Birdies x Angel City FC
As a title sponsor, Birdies is contributing to ACFC’s goal of bringing resources to those underserved in the LA community, with a particular emphasis on equality, essentials, and educational opportunities. With 10% of our sponsorship contribution dedicated to providing internship opportunities for girls and women across Los Angeles, our impact extends beyond the stadium gates. Together, in June of 2021, we launched the SOAR Internship, a one-of-a-kind paid internship providing high school students the opportunity to discover interests and uncover personal strengths while working alongside ACFC’s and Birdies’ leadership. As part of this initiative, each intern was awarded a $3,000 scholarship to help them pursue their future education.
Meet Our SOAR Interns
Abeyah Ismael
“During this internship, I’d like to learn how organizations like ACFC & Birdies help their communities.” Abeyah works as a Social Media Manager and will attend the University of San Francisco to study Marketing.
Kimorri Boozer
“To me, being bold means standing up for what you believe in even when everyone else might disagree.” Kimorri is a rugby coach and athlete and is planning to study Sports Law at university.
Shaleena Lee
“My goal for this internship is to make connections and learn about the content department.” Shaleena is going to UCLA to study marine biology and minor in film.

As ACFC’s exclusive sleeve patch partner, the Birdies’ logo will be positioned on the right shoulder of the official kit, appearing on home & away jerseys and team jersey merchandise. Fans can also look forward to an exclusive Birdies x ACFC shoe collaboration launching in Spring 2022.
About Angel City Football Club
Angel City Football Club is LA’s newest professional women’s soccer team and a member of the National Women's Soccer League. The team will take the pitch at its home venue, Banc of California Stadium, in Spring 2022. The team is founded by Academy Award-winning actress and activist Natalie Portman, technology venture capitalist Kara Nortman, media and gaming entrepreneur Julie Uhrman, and venture capitalist, 776 founder & Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. Other female founding investors include Serena Williams, Uzo Aduba, Sophia Bush, Jessica Chastain, America Ferrera, Jennifer Garner, and Eva Longoria.
