Caring in the Later Stages

This program offers information and support for family members and carers who are supporting someone in the later stages of dementia, or want to prepare for that time.

The program includes topics such as the progression of dementia, health care in the later stages, strategies for adjusting to change, tips for carer wellbeing and finding support, and opportunities to connect with others in a similar situation.

Dementia Australia’s facilitators have specialist dementia knowledge, skills and experience. This program is delivered interactively, you will be encouraged to share your experiences alongside other participants giving you an opportunity to develop new support networks.   

Suitable for: Family members and family carers caring for someone living with dementia in the later stages. It is recommended that participants have a good understanding of dementia and their caring role, and have attended other Dementia Australia education in the past.

This program is not suitable for professional carers or people employed in the health or aged care industries. The resources, content and delivery will not meet the needs of professionals.
