Dementia Australia have welcomed guest speakers to record a specialised education video for you to access.
In this video we are joined by Lee-Fay Low, Professor in Ageing and Health at the University of Sydney, discussing the evidence for rehabilitation for people with dementia, including: cognitive therapies, occupational therapy, exercise therapy and psychological therapies. Lee-Fay Low is joined by advocate Bobby Redman talking to her own experience, providing practical tips.

Professor Lee-Fay Low
Lee-Fay Low (BSc Psych (Hons), PhD) is a Professor in Ageing and Health at the University of Sydney. She is a registered psychologist with a PhD in psychiatric epidemiology. Her main areas of expertise are in rehabilitation and post-diagnostic support for people with dementia, home and residential care for older people, the impact of COVID-19 on people with dementia, stigma and dementia literacy, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Lee-Fay Low took part in the development of the "Forward with Dementia" website, which was developed by an international collaboration of researchers and clinicians in Australia, Canada, Poland, the Netherlands and the UK. Advocate Bobby Redman supported as a co-design advisor, sharing her story on the website, and has been part of webinars promoting post-diagnostic supports.
Roberta (Bobby) Redman
Bobby is a retired psychologist, living on the Central Coast of NSW. Bobby who was diagnosed with fronto-temporal dementia, in 2015, is passionate about her consumer advocacy work. She is Chair of the Dementia Australia Advisory Committee, sits on the Central Coast Dementia Alliance Committee and chairs the Central Coast Living with Dementia Advisory Group. She is involved in several research projects, sitting on a range of Steering/Advisory Committees.
Bobby is a strong Community Member and is also a Rotarian and Red Cross Volunteer. In 2020, Bobby was nominated for the NSW Senior Australian of the Year award.
