Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Disease

This session provides information on similarities and differences between Lewy body disease, Parkinson’s disease and Parkinson’s dementia and offers practical tips for family carers.

Dementia Australia's facilitators have specialist dementia knowledge, skills and experience. This session is delivered interactively, you will be encouraged to share your experiences alongside other participants giving you an opportunity to develop new support networks.

You will gain knowledge in:

  • the relationship between Lewy body disease, Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia
  • the signs and symptoms of these conditions
  • accessing support and information.

Suitable for: People living with dementia and their family carers and family members.

This session is intended for people diagnosed with or caring for someone with early to moderate stage Lewy body disease, Lewy body dementia or Parkinson's disease.

This session can be delivered on behalf of Aged Care and Disability service providers onsite to people living with dementia and families. If you would like to discuss onsite delivery, please contact the National Dementia Helpline on 1800 100 500. 

This session is not suitable for professional carers or people employed in the health or aged care industries. The resources, content and delivery will not meet the needs of professionals.
