In this video we are joined by Professor Dennis Velakoulis, discussing the most common forms of dementia that younger people are likely to be diagnosed with, the symptoms and the progression of the condition. Dr Dennis Velakoulis
Dr Dennis Velakoulis is the Clinical Director of the Melbourne Neuropsychiatry Centre, a centre of the University of Melbourne and Melbourne Health and Director of the Neuropsychiatry Unit, Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Dr Velakoulis' clinical and research interests cover a broad spectrum of neuropsychiatric disorders including younger onset dementia (frontotemporal dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease), movement disorders, neuroimaging in neuropsychiatry and neuropsychiatric aspects of neurological disorders and psychiatric disorders. His publications reflect this broad spectrum of expertise and include papers and book chapters in the neuroimaging of schizophrenia, cognitive assessment and neuropsychiatric aspects of frontotemporal dementia.
